About the role 
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team for a long-term project in the retail industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of programming principles, data architecture, and database technologies - both relational and NoSQL. This role demands a well-rounded technical skill set, including experience with large-scale data processing, data modeling, and cloud-based data solutions.

Your responsibilities
• Design and implement data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory, ensuring reliable and performant data movement across systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, analysts, and developers) to define and implement data solutions aligned with business goals
• Develop and maintain data models using relational and NoSQL databases such as SQLite and MongoDB
• Utilize Pyspark and Databricks to process and analyze massive data sets in near real-time or daily bases 
• Use Git repositories for version control, collaboration, and deployment of data pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, resolving issues to ensure continuous and reliable data delivery
• Document data architecture, workflows, and data dictionaries to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance by implementing governance and monitoring best practices
• Prepare demos of developed data solutions and present them to peers and stakeholders for feedback and knowledge sharing

Role's requirements
• 6+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
• Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases (SQLite, MongoDB)
• Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing concept
• Strong skills in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, especially in processing large data sets
• A strong understanding of cloud services with a focus in data storage and processing
• A strong understanding of big data, big data processing and big data technologies
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Experience with Databricks
• Experience with Python will be considered as an advantage
• Excellent technical and analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address data-related challenges
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written English
