About the role
We are looking for a DBA / Data Platform Expert to join Sirma Financial Industry Vertical and support the delivery of secure, reliable, and high-performing database platforms for mission-critical financial systems.
This role combines strong Oracle database expertise with exposure to modern data platforms and cloud technologies. You will participate in database administration, optimization, modernization, and transformation initiatives across financial services environments.

Your responsibilities
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade enterprise database environments, primarily Oracle Database
• Manage database lifecycle activities, including patching, upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects
• Monitor database performance, perform SQL tuning, and optimize storage and indexing strategies
• Manage backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery processes
• Implement database security controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance measures
• Support Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments
• Participate in cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and database transformation initiatives
• Contribute to automation, standardization, and operational excellence programs
• Collaborate with technical, security, and business teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance

Role's requirements
• Strong experience in database administration, preferably Oracle Database 12c and above
• Experience managing enterprise database environments
• Experience with backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Strong SQL performance tuning and optimization skills
• Experience working with Linux environments
• Understanding of database security, resilience, and operational best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive mindset and sense of ownership
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and business stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related degree
• Excellent verbal and written English

Advantages:
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Experience with Oracle Database 19c/23ai and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Shell scripting, automation, and DevOps practices
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or other enterprise databases
• Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with DORA, NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001, or similar regulatory frameworks
• Relevant professional certifications
